OPINION By Greg Sargent. Article courtesy of The Washington Post. Almost immediately after Glenn Youngkin unexpectedly won the Virginia gubernatorial race, some observers spied a tantalizing possibility: Youngkin might show that in today’s Trumpified GOP, there’s still a place for a center-right politics that rebuffs Donald Trump’s worst impulses and charts a new route to a […]
School districts resisting his ban “aren’t recognizing the rights of parents today,” Youngkin told conservative radio host John Fredericks. “And oh, by the way, they haven’t been recognizing the rights of parents all along. So I’m not surprised at all to hear these reactions from school boards that have consistently prioritized bureaucrats and politicians over the rights of parents.”
Mr. Youngkin has issued two executive orders aimed at the G.O.P. base: one banning critical race theory and the other banning school mask mandates.
Party officials now say they are resigned to spending and organizing their way around the new voting restrictions passed in Republican-controlled states.
“He has a right to believe in them, and he’s taking them, and he thinks that other people should,” said conservative talk show host John Fredericks, the chair of Trump’s campaigns in Virginia in 2016 and 2020. “Also, he’s not for mandates. He’s not for making people put something in their body or take something they don’t want.” He predicted that the controversy would have “zero impact” on the primaries.
National radio and television talk show host John Fredericks will broadcast his morning radio show live in Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office at the Capitol in Atlanta on Weds, January 12, 2022 from 6:00 – 10:00 AM.
MUST READ: Trump did not seem inclined to let him pivot away, repeatedly weighing in on the race. In an appearance on the “John Fredericks Radio Show” in September, Trump warned that Youngkin risked losing by not fully embracing the Make America Great Again movement.
The GOP establishment darling told John Fredericks that she’d back Kevin McCarthy for Speaker and should be elected because she’s a woman.
JF in the News: ““The only scenario to wrest the nomination away from Chase is a convention that includes ranked-choice voting,” said talk show host John Fredericks, who served as former President Trump’s 2016 and 2020 Virginia campaign chairman.”
